We have a coupon in this years Chinook Book. What is that? It's an amazing book of savings. Coupons from many local Portland stores and service providers. It's built to be a resource not only for savings, but to help people find businesses who practice sustainable living.
How does Clogs-N-More do that? Well, most of the shoes we sell are resoleable. We have a repairman on staff who will service your clogs (and more) for the duration of their life. He has resurrected shoes from certain death...think puppies.
Wondering what our coupon is? Well, receive 15% off a single item (and if you buy more than one item, we'll even be nice and give you the discount on the more expensive one!). You must have that coupon in your hot little hands, tho...
You can buy Chinook Books at local grocery stores and bookstores (I think). I am sure there are other locations to purchase, but I am not sure where. Perhaps clicking here will help you find a place?

holiday styles

So with the holidays come those holiday parties. What is a girl to do about all those fancy things that she wants to wear, but without the discomfort of high heels?
Wear Danskos!
We were happy when they came out with high heel styles this season that feel great on the feet. The arch is much better in these than any other high heels out there. Granted what is comfortable for one is not always comfortable for all, but surely there is something at our stores that will perk your interest...right?
So come in, get some patent clogs, some high heeled Mary Janes, or just go for another pair of your standard Professionals. As long as you go to the parties in comfort, right? And please, keep in mind...be responsible. Drink and take the bus, cab, max, anything BUT drive...

and the slippers have it

We are expecting a few more slippers in the stores. Haflinger slippers to be exact. The arch support that exists in them is amazing, but trust me when I say that it gets even better with wear.
Last year they sold out quickly, so get to one of our five regular retail locations soon to make sure you get your pair (or that gift pair) soon!!
For men, unless they have smaller feet, the sheep only go up to size 42 Euro (that's a US men's 9).
We also have dogs...
Oh, and if you don't know what to get that hard to shop for person in your life, MINE loves his slippers. Has accidentally worn them to work a couple of times.

changes are afoot
No pun intended...
We've recently updated our offices at Clogs-N-More. Making us a more efficiently run business (well, I am feeling more efficient and effective).
What does this mean for this blog? Well, my hopes are that I update it at least weekly, if not more often.
So, without further adieu...
We opened up our location at 617 NW 23rd. 97201 on August 13th. The people of that hood welcomed us with open arms. We thank you all for the support and the love!!
If you haven't gone in yet, you should check it out! We're getting things there weekly (as we're still trying to build out our inventory). This space has encouraged us to go ahead and do some changes at our downtown location. Paint is being applied to the walls and new racks installed, one section at a time.
We thank everyone for their patronage over the last 12 years. We couldn't have done it without you!!

eight years
it was just about eight years ago that i joined the clogs-n-more family. i'd been working at a different local shoe store (who is now out of business) when that job ended rather abruptly. i moped around, applied at other places, then i got a call from the former manager at the hawthorne location. they had a job, they didn't, but they did and did i want it? yes, no, yes?
when i started oh so long ago we had two locations. downtown and in southeast on hawthorne. i split my four work days between the two locations, always preferring downtown for the simple fact that the hawthorne store was slow. of course it is the busiest location now.
fast forward a few years and we're now 7 stores strong! five regular shops, an outlet, and a kids location. i'm in awe of my boss and his determination. he is a wise man, whom i've learned much from over the years.
was hoping to have some photos of the new store to share, but realized that i didn't have the camera the last time i was there finishing the set up. will have to rectify that today...
because, WE'RE OPEN!!
617 nw 23rd ave in portland...come see me. i'm hoping that i won't be bored and we'll be busy. fingers crossed, okay? currently we are thinking the hours should be sun-thurs 10-6 and thru the summer fri/sat 10-8. i honestly am thinking that 10-7 thru the summer will be late enough because a friend who worked at a store in the same block said that from 6-7 the only people who came in were waiting for their table at a nearby restaurant. so yeah, gots to talk with my boss about that.
